Stocks extend gains; Nasdaq rises 1 percent (Reuters)
U.S. stocks extended gains on Thursday, with the Nasdaq rising more than 1 percent, helped by a jump in Apple Inc’s shares after several brokerages lifted their price target on the iPod maker.
